Shoebill of Wuppertal

After someone in the Zoo of Duisburg told me about a Shoebill living in the Zoo of Wuppertal I got really surprised. The last two years I went three or four times to the Zoo of Wuppertal, but I never saw this amazing creature! But this person was right!!! Arriving at the Zoo of Wuppertal I asked a zoo keeper to show me where the Shoebill is living... and after straying for a while I finally found him in an unprepossessing path I have never been before. What a beauty!!! How gracefully!!! It's always a pleasure to welcome a Shoebill as a "Special Guest" in my vulture-blog!

Vultures of Wuppertal

For lack of time here just some pictures of vultures living in the Zoo of Wuppertal.
Amorous Cinereous Vulture (Eurasian Black Vulture) couple sitting in their nest:
A Bearded Vulture presenting his impressive wings. Don't know where the second Bearded Vulture was hiding. Hopefully inside the little nesting-room, caring for a chick.
The male Andean Condor snoozing in the sun.
The female Andean Condor was jumping on a high tree to get closer to the warming sun.
